Short analog horror demo with ARG elements about a laptop running an unknown operating system: TreeTech1998

---Story---

You play as Zoe, a girl who stumbles across a strange, custom-built laptop running an operating system she’s never heard of before: TreeTech1998.  It isn’t a normal OS, it was created by a paranoid programmer, so it hides parts of the laptop from the user, locking away files, apps and pieces of the past behind odd rules and strange behavior. To access what’s really on the machine, Zoe has to perform unusual tasks, solve puzzles, and learn how TreeTech1998 thinks. With every new shortcut and secret she discovers, more of the laptop and more of its missing owner’s story begins to surface.

---About the Game---

This is a short demo for a puzzle horror game. It also contains some analog horror and ARG elements. Since it is a horror game, be aware of:

- Loud noises

- Flashing lights

- Disturbing imagery

- Jumpscares

And, of course: headphones, dark room, fullscreen, you already know. As for the puzzle part of the game, don't be discouraged if you're just here for the horror. The puzzles can be challenging, but they’re designed to be solvable with a bit of patience. As for the ARG elements, the game will take you to real YouTube videos and discord servers (separate from the official server for the game).  The whole demo takes place on a laptop screen so it's a 2D game with a lot of clicking and dragging. To finish the demo it would take you between 30 min and 2 hours, depending on how fast you figure out the puzzles and if choose to explore and read everything.

I made a discord server for this game. It's mostly for quick updates and play testing, a place where I can patch or update the game in 5 minutes and instantly upload it for people to playtest instantly, give me feedback, suggestions, reporting bugs, etc. This way the development of the full game will be more smooth with the help of people who enjoyed it.
